The singer is from Exeter. They even had a song named Exeter on an early album.

I saw em in 2017 just before they got big in Cardiff in front of about 200 people was quality. I've found the last few albums, tiresome but their early stuff is quality.
Saw them at Greenman 2019 - awesome set and energy. They’ve become a bit more introspective of late and less raw energy shouty.

I definitely prefer the earlier stuff but do enjoy the current album - depends on the mood I’m in.

Couldn't you say that of any festival?
No....... Don't know if it still goes on but the 'tradition' at Reading festival was to burn down tents (and anything else people could get hold of) on the final day. Atmosphere was feral and (literally) toxic

Isn’t Reading the one populated mainly by 16-18 yr old kids who’ve just finished GCSEs and A levels? Massive p*ss up leading to some hormonal aggression I expect.

Been to Greenman, IoW, Beautiful Days and small festival called Krankenhaus as well as Latitude.

By far the most enjoyable have been the ‘smaller’ ones, B Days, Greenman and Krankenhaus.

The biggies are too commercialised and beer on offer is ***** and overpriced.

If i had to agree with you we would both be wrong
Reading Rock was the best music festival back in its day , Dont think I would bother with Glastonbury even if tickets were reasonably priced

If you like smaller, friendly festivals check out Bearded Theory near Burton-on-Trent.
It’s always on over the bank holiday weekend at the end of May.

Yes. Very much a 'first time away from parents' vibe

Heard good things about 2000Trees in Glosc.

Ha! Same at Leeds, I went in 2006 with a couple of exewebbers at the time. Final day was always the riot day as they called it. All weekend was glorious weather until Sunday when it poured all day. I'm wandering about in me trimm trabs soaking. Get back to my tent to discover everyone in the group had, had stuff nicked from their tents. I pack light and have nothing worth nicking so they'd shot an arrow through it and my sleeping bag etc was soaked 🤣

There's usually a band or act dug up from the past that make you cringe and this year, for me, Dexy's are the ones to take the title. Cyndi Lauper came close mind.

Thought Kasabian absolutely smashed it.

Saw Kasabian 2018 at 50th anniversary IoW - what a show
