I believe they are actually from andrew ridgelys guitar, they had to make a change after he realised that it wasnt plugged in.

I only noticed today that the BBC censors out the clock-faces of Big Ben on its BBC News background.
I assume this it to prevent people reading a 'wrong' time although to do that they would have to ignore the fact the the backdrop is obviously a still photograph and the actual time that is presented on screen directly below the Big Ben image.

That or perhaps Big Ben is doing something with its hands which is too risky for pre-watershed viewing?
