this is,IIRC, what happened with Jay Stansfield. MT has said the loan had been agreed but then Fulham had some injuries, so jay was needed in the Premiership squad (and. team!).

It then became very touch and go and was only OK'd after Fulham signed another striker a few hours before the transfer deadline

Let's hope that this rumour of a hitch is all a load of "pollocks" and he gets introduced to the crowd on Tuesday evening !

If the rumours of a hitch are true, perhaps Watford have agreed Pollock can train with us until they can let the move go through?

That would fit with AA’s statement that he’s been training with us this week.

We were all praying for Dan James to sign for Fulham from Leeds. I was, anyway.

If he is recalled they must have a major injury crisis as they have eleven defenders in their squad, a whole team, that would lead to an exciting game not! If he was close to playing for them this season would they be letting him out on loan with 20 odd games left?

Here clasping at straws :)

I think there is one simple explanation that best fits the facts as we understand them (he's been training with us, one/this deal was thought to be near, but nothing's happened)

That explanation is that Watford have a central defence injury issue at present and want Pollock back *for now* either to be on the bench or available just in case.

No problem over the technical rules about recall, because the loan hadn't been completed/registered.

So its off for now, but may be on again before the window closes. Watford/Pollock need to make a decision by then because of course once the window closes it will be too late for him to get the valuable loan/playing time that he needs.

So....not now, but watch this space.
