the article says Premier League clubs have had a look. As the article was from more than 2 years ago presumably those Premier League clubs, after looking, decided 'no thanks'.
My point was more what Matt Taylor thought of Jokull. While I'm not suggesting he's as good as Cam Dawson, I've little doubt that Jokull would have been our first choice keeper for the 2020-21 season had we been able to reach agreement with Reading in good time.

He was an emergency loan. I doubt Taylor had too many options and I can't imagine Matt Taylors knowledge of 3rd/4th choice Championship goalkeepers is great. He owned a pair of gloves and was immediately available - in you come.

I appreciate he was an emergency loan when he first arrived. My point is that I suspect Matt Taylor would have had him back in a heartbeat for the 2020-21 season had the opportunity arisen.

I think you mean 21/22?

I'm not so sure, Dawson was a very different profile of a keeper and we ended up with him. That would have been some turnaround.

Yeah, you're right: 21-22. I heard Matt Taylor wax lyrical about Jokull more than once and was always under the impression that Jokull was the No. 1 target in the summer of 2021-22 and that we only turned our attention elsewhere when that was no longer a possibility - Jokull signed for Morecambe on July 23, Cam signed for us six days later.

Thank god it happened, we’d have been nowhere near the autos if you’d swapped those keepers around

Soooooo any whispers as to whether a signing or two is imminent? Wonder if @Agent Andy can enlighten us.

I believe you are right here Egg. From what I was told at the time we wanted to sign Jokull on a permanent but we couldn’t agree a fee or Reading only wanted it to be a loan.

Once the deal was ‘off’ with us he then signed a new deal with Reading and went on loan to Morecambe.

Obviously worked out well for us in the end as Cam came in and did great!!

With Stanno definately going, a question mark as to Jevani and the strong possibility that we could receive a bid for Nombe that would leave us with just Sonny Cox in the forwards ranks (notwithstanding if Coley can be considered). Therefore, are there any strikers we may be looking at such as Dan Agyei of Crewe, Luke Armstrong of Harrogate, Josh Gordon of Barrow or Omar Bogle in L2? Andrew Dallas on loan at Chesterfield in the league being a Scot may be of interest :)
Andrew Dallas has joined Barnsley on free scored 23 goals last season.
They’ve also bought Max Watters from Cardiff as well.

Wasn't he supposed to be the next big thing?
