The reality is we are both in League One next season. They have a multi millionaire owner. We don’t. We lose a couple of our quality players and are we going to be able to sign like for like replacements?! No….. For example we lose Stubbs and our defence is far weaker. It was a standing joke about when he was ever going to play but he has been a rock for us this season.
That is true but the point I was making was about the current situation. There is every chance that Vince will splash the cash but right now we have lost one key player (Dawson) and Forest Green have arguably lost three (Wilson, Cadden and Adams).

The difference is Forest Green have a total of 12 players under contract, not all of whom will probably be good enough to step up to League One. By contrast we already have 18 or 20 players under contract, most of whom will be expected to make the step up. Or put it another way, we probably need to sign maybe 4 or 5 players whereas Forest Green will probably need to sign double that.
That's not a difference at all, it's merely your opinion. All those players who aren't good enough for L1 have just beaten all of ours who are to the L2 title - where's your evidence they're not good enough, if ours are then theirs are, both teams were comfortably ahead of the rest of the division.

But the 12 players Forest Green currently have under contract for next season are not all of the players who helped them win the title. They include, for example, the likes of Thomas, Bunker and March who started 7 games between them.

Probably depend on how much FGR up the wages on who they keep or sign. Where as we have already pushed the boat out on wages for Nombe, Brown and possibly Dieng so not much left in the pot you would think. Dawson was obviously a key player but never going to be permanently our player, just a move that suited and benefited both parties. Maybe we can get Andresson permanently?! money well spent and an investment for the future. Wouldn’t paying decent transfer fees again be part of the step up ?! bigger fan base, higher expectations and keep on progressing. We have the sound foundations with The Trust Ownership model etc. so now appears to be the time, while we have momentum to move on within our means of course, and not just settle for making up the numbers.
