On topic, just imagine how much more value for money the royal family would be if this money was going to the public, and not being trousered by Charlie and co?

No, the crown owns around 30 properties, including Balmoral, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Sandringham, Holyrood etc.

If only. In fairness to his kingliness, the profits from the crown estates are paid to the treasury, of which a portion is paid back as his pocket money.

Not sure how a slimmed down RF needs all the properties they have but since I no interest in visiting them, It's a meh from me.

No Monarchist, but commentators referring to Camilla as 'The Queen', even though she is, just doesn't sit right. The shirt should have been retired for a generation or two after THE Queen's passing, if only out of respect.

Didn't The Queen (ERII) give her blessing around the time of Platty Jubes for Camilla to be referred to as Queen Consort? Bit like some Prime Ministers, eg John Major or Gordon Brown, after a long 'reigning' one, when they're referred to as PM, the initial thought is "that's not the Prime Minister!"

Similarly, Prince Edward as the Duke of Edinburgh.

Now that appointment does feel just wrong.
