I've no issue with a pitch invasion it's the acting the ******* when guarded by a load of stewards that's the issue. We seem to have a minority of people who think they can do what they want and then cry when people have a pop back at them.

Enjoy yourselves but don't act the ****.
Who’s had a pop back at “them”? Who even is “them”. We going down the Stevenage ****** sign discussion again? That’s my favourite.

That can wait until I'm a Grandad, but thanks.

What's the net result of the pitch invasion ? Elderly and young allegedly assaulted, potentially a club fine, an official investigation in an already busy week for the club in its preps before Wembley.

Smart move by the posturing few who we know wouldn't ever attempt to 'put Lincoln in their place' at Sincil Bank.
I’m sure the club can deal with a few bits of paperwork. I doubt that Tisdale will be running the investigation :)

This is part of the issue John. Going to the footy nowadays for many fans (young AND old) is part enjoyment as you'd expect and part what can they capture on their phones. You see it regularly when a goal is scored or a penalty is being taken and there are simpletons behind the goals filming it instead of just being in that moment and enjoying fully the elation of that moment. How the hell anyone can truly lose themselves in celebration whilst holding a mobile aloft is beyond me and i'd go so far as to say it's impossible. It's a clear distraction from allowing oneself to be engulfed in what is happening at any given moment therefore that given moment cannot be fully and truly appreciated for what it is.

Also you have the issues that you've mentioned about people looking to get reactions from others so they can film the aftermath. In this case the Lincoln fans so not exclusively Exeter fans. It's a section of fans at every club that seem more preoccupied with documenting their away days for social media for example than just going out for the day and having a great time at the footy.
Welcome to 2018 mate. I agree with you, phones have basically killed culture. Irony is I’m using one right now to ignore the other people sat on my train table.

No we're not going down any route Max so stop being professionally offended by everything. The people involved last night were all of a younger age. Sorry if that upsets you.

Professionally offended I like that one, probably sums up the majority of posts in this thread!

I would have gone on but my knees giving me gyp

The reason why most of us love football is the excitement, emotion, and joy. OK, strictly speaking fans shouldn't invade the pitch, but as long as they behave themselves imo it's not a terrible thing to do. if you take away that joy, what's the point? And it's hard to contain that joy. Some of the old fogeys don't like it, but that's because they can't climb over the fence ;). But the fans
that run on the pitch should not abuse or attack anyone. Lets see if someone actually attacked the Lincoln kit man or whether he was accidentally a victim of an exuberant crowd. If he was attacked - ban for life.
Exactly this. Any tw@ts who did anything untoward with any of Lincoln's staff deserve to be punished. But anyone suggesting that running on the pitch was inherently wrong, needs to lighten up! I for one was first on.

Simple Question

The Away End is the furthest section from the Big Bank

So exactly why was that the most popular spot for everyone to celebrate ??
Because that's where the tunnel is and therefore where all the players headed eventually.

^As above. I agree Ash.

I still am slightly suspicious of the whole “78 year old” punched claim. Possibly sour grapes or maybe an accident? Seems a weird thing to do. CCTV will have the answer.

Now let’s all have a group hug and get promotion this time. If we do go up, the organised safe celebrations that Wembley specialises in will suit many down to the ground ;)

Aren't you the one.

Had a great first season back have the Imps, generally decent, friendly support and there's many parallels to our own community club/city. Final game of the season for them, it'd been nice for the team to have been allowed the opportunity to thank the faithful who'd made the 500 mile midweek round trip, but no, instead they were put firmly 'in their place' by those who felt the need to invade the pitch to celebrate another day trip to Wembley. We've yet to win feck all, not least any respect.
Miserable old fart. We won. We're going to Wembley. We had something to celebrate. Nowt wrong with invading the pitch and who's going to worry about whether the opposition have the opportunity to thank their fans????
