Taylor has pretty much said Stubbs will be rested tomorrow, along with a couple of others.

Ian, £10 to the trust Stubbs is rested tomorrow? Take my bet?
He should not be it is points that count and there is no reason why we should not be in the autos at the end of tomorrow night’s game.

If Rovers and Hartlepool can both do us favour and we win…..third place three points clear of Sutton in 5th with a game in hand, one point clear of Northampton in 4th also with a game in hand and two points behind Tranmere with two games in hand.

Not what I want to hear Harrogate are no push over and we need to make our home advantage work for us……we have strong defence who know each other’s game and a decent squad but we are not Man City.

Not too worried about who plays in our back three, we were racking up clean sheets earlier this season with Hartridge, Ray and Sweeny back there. Sure MT would trust any of our squad back there and sure that he realises that Cameron Dawson is the only indispensable player in our team.

The big IF, we could quite easily lose and Tranmere win then we are 8 points behind. Let's hope and see what happens. I have been thinking it too but you know what city are like 😂

Early season perhaps - but not a single clean sheet from 18 Sept until 4 Jan - over 3 months and more than 20 consecutive games!

We aren't go to do anything in modern football if we can only rely on 11 players.

Players nowadays train to a much higher level and the games played are much faster now. About 1 in 30 professional players taking the field every saturday are injured that day.

We have to rotate and rest players and we have to have a decent depth to the squad otherwise we will be mid table at best.

There's been plenty of chat about whether we should stick or rest and rotate - my 5 cents worth says it better to miss out on Stubbs for the odd game than to miss him for a spell through injury so stick him on the bench and give Hartridge some game time, maybe an hour and depending on the score we can always bring Stubbs on. Prediction 3-1 (Phillips x2, Nombe) .... COYR autos are beckoning!

I've no issue with hartridge playing tonight. If Taylor wants to rest Stubbs then play him on Saturday, then so be it. It's not weakening the team by putting Hartridge in.

Despite me agreeing with what you have said in the interests of 'fairness' I cannot recall a single poster suggesting we should rest Sweeney or Diabate. The debate has been about Stubbs. I'm in the camp of leave be but should the Manager leave him out tomorrow I will back his decision based on being around the boy all week and knowing what is in his and the team's best interests. However, when I take my seat tomorrow I will be disappointed if he isn't playing.
Unless I misread something I'm sure somebody suggested going with a flat back four with Sweenz and Hartridge in the middle (and no I haven't checked back). I bought Sweenz into it as part of the group who have served us more than admirably since the turn of the New Year.
