We aren't go to do anything in modern football if we can only rely on 11 players.

Players nowadays train to a much higher level and the games played are much faster now. About 1 in 30 professional players taking the field every saturday are injured that day.

We have to rotate and rest players and we have to have a decent depth to the squad otherwise we will be mid table at best.
We're not relying on eleven players but every team has a core that the side is built around and plays better when the core is there. Our core is Dawson, Stubbs, Dieng and Nombe. Take any one of those players out and we just aren't quite as strong.

I don't disagree with any of that. It still doesn't change the fact that outfield players will be rotated and rested and that will include Stubbs.

Not too worried about who plays in our back three, we were racking up clean sheets earlier this season with Hartridge, Ray and Sweeny back there. Sure MT would trust any of our squad back there and sure that he realises that Cameron Dawson is the only indispensable player in our team.
Very few clean sheets with that combo. Our defence now is unrecognisable compared to earlier in the season

Taylor has pretty much said Stubbs will be rested tomorrow, along with a couple of others.
He was lying then

Super Sam is back!!!! Key (unsurprisingly imo) and Dieng have been rested. Big Nige in for Dieng, Sparkes in on the left. Lucky for TKF that I didn't take the bet on.

This looked like a game too far for Stubbs tonight and MT was right to suggest that he would need to rest him imminently.
Unfortunately, with the injury he picked up, he's clearly going to get his rest. Hopefully he wont be out too long.

Yeah, looks like the la la landers were right. This game was a bridge too far for the back three. Stubbs should have been rested, he looked jaded and when players play whilst not 100% they are always likely to pick up an injury. Some of you lot have rocks in your head!
