About what season do you think it was? If in the Cowshed it must have been pre 2000ish. Don’t think we ever played Wycombe in a competitive game before 2000. We have a good record in the Museum of non competitive games but a rough year would help us try and check.
as much as i rack my brain,i just cannot remember,it might have been early 70s,i do recall wycombe won 3 1 ,but sadly a rough year escapes me.it wasnt a friendly as far as i can recall, but i maybe wrong,i would love someone to find out if possible

That'll be it I think. A Tuesday night game.
i dont think it was then, because we stood in the old cowshed, which was pre 2000,and for some strange reason i dont think it was a league game, because at the time wycombe were non league, but thanks for your help

my sincere apologies,it wasnt wycombe.but it was St lukes he played for and it was against city,in a local game,i still think st lukes won 3 1,but i do apologise for getting people to rack their brains on a fools errand, the st lukes kit was quarters like wycombe which is why ithought it was wycombe,he woukld have been a student at st lukes which i beleive was a sports orientated college.once again,my sincere apolgies for wasting anyones time and efforts

This reminds me of Harry Enfield's pub landlord.

Wycombe Wanderers did indeed play at SJP before 2000 - on 1 May 1967. Could that have been it? The only thing is that it was against St Luke’s College as part of their centenary season. City fan and history collector Steve Stentiford contacted me to suggest this game. Here’s the programme cover:

That’s a very good shout, brain playing tricks as we all march on.

I could well have been at that game. Used to go to watch St Lukes at SJP quite often, we had a student teacher that played for them. Invaded the pitch in an ironic way when he scored on one occasion. Got hell at school the next day!
