Surely it would have been better to take one of the youth players - even if you have no intention of playing them. It would give the individual a boost, prove that the first team squad is obtainable as well as getting them used to being around the first team set-up.
Would you rather spend X number of pounds on bringing in a player on a two year contract or use that money as compensation to terminate Caldwell’s contract?
Just an idea! At the Pompey game why not collectively turn our backs on the game at a given time, e.g, 10th minute for five minutes - calling for his resignation. Not only that it would give a clear indication on how many supporters are fed up with how things are.
