Petrol. Mk 2, 2007. The only work required in 15 years aside of servicing was a bit on the steering 5 years ago to the tune of £1500 and a replacement dashboard brain last year (£200). Other than that, it's run like a dream. Ah I forgot the replacement door when some fecker hit and ran me. Got it for £25 on eBay down the road, then another £150 to get it fitted.Is it a Petrol or Diesel engine ?
Oil changes every year regardless of mileage & cam belt replacements as per manufacturers spec is a great help to keeping older motors on the road.
Lots of nonsense about emissions & changing cars because of that issue. The carbon footprint of producing a new car car outweighs keeping a older model on the road apparently.
