Disappointing to concede late on but, got to say, I enjoyed the game. Different City today playing on the front foot and even crossing it in from corners.
If you only ever score one goal at home you ain’t going to win many. Same old, same old.

Played 40 games now and scored 34 goals, seems like our problem is so obvious but somehow insoluble.

The Bridge Inn….on a good day.
City not scoring enough goals is obviously the issue. At 1-0 it just takes one shot , one lapse in concentration, one deflection and we’re back to where we started….and so it proved today.
We are still too lightweight in strikers….if we had led 2-0 we would have beaten Charlton.
2 decent strikers top priority in the summer window.

Don't hold out a lot of hope today. A draw would be a great result. UTC.
Bit gutted really. We should have won that.

Shame to concede a goal late on, especially as it looked like Aneke's header was going wide before unfortunately hitting Cheick and going in. In truth after a great opening 15 minutes where we scored there wasn't a lot to the game. Charlton didn't really create many clear cut chances, and it looked like we would grind out another win before their equalizer came out of nothing.

Obviously after that we were lucky to get the point with May going round Vils at the death and hitting the post, which would have been a real sickner if that had gone in.

Thought the back 3 defended well although I don't think it helped Purrington having to go off after a clash of heads with Aneke. We probably had a 10 minute spell in the middle of the 2nd half where we kept getting good ball to Wildschut who played well and we were unlucky not to get on the end of one of his crosses to get the 2nd goal. our front 3 today looked a little lightweight and struggled in all honesty. We were also a bit loose in possession in the final 3rd where a bit more composure and quality would have helped us get the 2nd goal.

Ultimately, you see the difference when Charlton are able to bring Ladapo and Aneke off the bench, and we have basically gone through a full season without a recognized #9.

Still another point to our tally but Monday is a big game now and we need to get something out of that game to keep our unbeaten run going.

Charlton never really looked worth a point although if we had goal line technology they would have equalised in the last second of the first half.

Very unfortunate OG but once again failing in front of goal only a Wildschut shot causing their keeper any serious trouble throughout the game.

Question marks over both our new strikers neither of them looked like scoring when coming on as second half substitutes.

Didn’t really understand the decision to not start Cole.

Carroll had a good game Aimson not that involved and Sweenz at times immense with at least one goal saving last ditch tackle.

Still think we must surely be safe but the picture is not 100% clear with teams below us picking up points and games coming up against both the resurgent Cheltenham and Port Vale teams.

Good game, feel sure Charlton will be right up there next season and I thought we were at least as good as them. All the time we said we needed strikers what we really needed was a solid defensive midfielder, Woods was outstanding. Having said that I can't say the attackers we brought in are showing much, Aisa and Alli look lost and should have been the fresh legs required to get us over the finish line.
Wildshutt had his best game for us!

Still think the club has something to answer for saying we’d have the resources to bring in a striker and bringing in a kid from non-league and a lad who couldn’t get into a league 2 team. Same problem we’ve had all season, cox can’t be the answer every week.

I’d also be worried that two of todays best players, Woods and Sinisalo, are off at the end of the season

Yes, agree Bridgy. My comment is based on him now. Undoubted potential but needs a fair bit of development.
