Not sure why everyone is so pre-occupied with what's going on up front as we're 4th in the table and the 3rd highest scorers in the division. Bowman may not be scoring himself but as long as other players are taking advantage of the space he is creating than that's not really a problem for the team as a whole.Bowman's poor form is being amplified by the lack of competition from others, esp the guy who should be his main rival for a place: Ajose. That's not Bowman's fault, it's Ajose's.
Two things I'd like to see Bowman try to drag some form and confidence into his game are: 1) get across or in front of his marker when we cross the ball (he always seems to be behind or on the wrong side of the defender); 2) time his jumps better (he jumps so early for his headers, so that he's always coming down when the ball arrives).
Don't agree with this. The keeper, whoever it is, can see all and should be dictating and dominating this situation. Sweens has his back to the goalscorer with The Iceman coming towards him.Just seen the TV footage for the first time and I reckon Sweenz is at fault for the first one. He should have made a strong decision and put the ball into row Z knowing that he's got a young inexperienced keeper coming off his line. He didn't, then slipped and the striker was in.
Good away point mind and I'm happy with that.
Ajose is not a rival of Bowman. They are different players that bring different things to the table. Ajose cannot fit into our system sadly.Bowman's poor form is being amplified by the lack of competition from others, esp the guy who should be his main rival for a place: Ajose.
