Move the cameras to the other side of the pitch!

Does anyone think we should move the cameras at SJP to the other side? Our ground looks awful on tv, looks non-league. Move the electric advertising board to the opposite side and put up a platform in the Adam Stansfield stand. This would greatly improve the media profile of the club as we try and attract quality players and establish ourselves as a League One club.

If you think about, the club obviously decided against it, as they could have incorporated the infrastructure when the new stand was built.

Like with Pete's point, I don't disagree - it looks much better viewed from the stand

Personally would class it as part of a "brand building" exercise, however awkward that feels to read

While there is definitely a tinpot element to the view from the Ivor Doble Stand, I always enjoy the view on iFollow of the houses rising in the gap between the Adam Stansfield Stand and the Big Bank. It certainly would be a much better image for the club to have the cameras pointing in the opposite direction, but maybe it could work in our favour also. Away players and fans may be surprised by the atmosphere and crowd that we can generate on big match days these days, having only seen pictures on TV prior to that. I think out of the many factors players consider when moving to a new League One club, how the stadium appears on TV would be low down the list. We don't go after the top players, so their choices are already limited anyway. They will be much more concerned with location, salary and playing prospects. If any of our own fans are embarrassed by the view on TV, they should have a look around at some of the other stadiums in the division. They may have all four sides filled by seats, but a great deal of them are not as pretty as ours.

Well there will be four cameras at every game next season so maybe one will be in the Stanno. Just need to build a gantry.

And judging by interviews, the training ground.

We'd lose some prime seats in the Stanno if we put a platform or something at the back of Block D. Plus the parking (for lorries) and logistics for when a live TV games occurs is all on the Doble side, along with the media/press seats. I don't disagree with the fundamental point, but I don't believe its as simple as it initially appears.
