The Decline of Manchester United

They have put Man U into debt to the tune of about half billion:

" The accounts, for the three months ending March 31 this year, expose the net debt now standing at 582.47 million euros, up from 521.13 million euros. While the long-term US debt has not changed, the rise included the credit facility which United have used to provide "financial flexibility" during the pandemic."
I guess that's what happens when you keep sacking managers and signing older players on huge salaries (Di Maria, Falcao, Ronaldo...)

It doesn't matter much what manager they have as the structure above them is antiquated and been allowed to disintegrate. They got away with it with Fergie and David Gill running the football side. David Gill has never been adequately replaced.

Around £1.5 billion has gone out of the club in non football related terms and nothing invested by the Glazers who you have to think are just not interested in anything bar the bottom line. It's when profits start to disappear they will get worried but even then will just probably sell up and pocket another windfall. Leveraged buyouts at their worst.

Another season without CL football and the money that brings in might start that?

They have missed out on CL before under the Glazers. United turnover so much that CL isn't quite as big as it is for other clubs. A lengthy period without it might be different but missing one or two years won't make the Glazer's blink.

Seeing this team it'll be years before they're top 4 again.

It's what happens when you throw stones in glass houses owned by dodgy Glazers............ the whole world shatters.

If i had to agree with you we would both be wrong
Got talking to my lad (big utd fan) he said he went to Old Trafford last season a few times and said the stadium is in a right state and needs severe investment asap because there are parts where water was seen coming down the walls due to the roof not being up to scratch.

Wasnt the last big investment the Quadrant ? That was some time ago.

Good work Rosey. I detest leveraged buy outs

On the BBC Football Gossip page it says Man U could go for Vardy, Now i know he's a good player but what is he now?, 34/35? and last season weren't first choice at Leicester, Maybe through injury but its he's not exactly the type of player to bring the good times back, What is going on with their recruitment policy?

Their recruitment policy is to sign players who were in their prime about 5 years before and pay them as if they are still 28 in the hope they can recapture their younger days.
