This post alone shows the incompetence of our board members that they felt fit to employ a man with this managerial record not only at thistle but also at chesterfield. what a surprise he’s ended up doing the exact same to us. If he’s not gone in the morning some serious pressure need to be put on these board members and their jobs.
That’s the thing that astounds many of us at Chesterfield, not only was he dire for us but he carried on that at Partick then gets the job at yours. Hope you stop up regardless, been to Exeter a couple of times, seen two victories so happy memories, and prefer the smaller teams to do well.
Genuinely not here on a wind up just so surprised he got another job after Partick as well.

Personally I don’t think it was a bad defensive performance

We lost 7 ******* 0 not dressing it up any other way than abysmal maybe we did get outclassed and Bolton are a top side but I think this will be the start of a few hammerings now, other teams will dismantle us this season and some have already.

The players are ****** physically and absolutely ****** mentally.

They've got nothing left from hyper intensity training and pointless character building exercises rather than focusing on tactical drills and useful elements.

And they can't handle the physicality or mentality not all of that falls at Gary's door but a lot does.

As a notable detective Sexton Blake ...it appears you might benefit from the services of SOCO or Forensics?

Do we (trust member fans) organise a properly run campaign to force the issue ? Signatures, resolutions and the like or wait and see...

Right up to the final whistle Bolton never eased off and their pressure was utterly relentless. Not sure how many of the other league one teams could have lived with that
A fair enough review, seems there were some 'positives'. However, I would argue that it's often said that with the relatively close quality of teams in the lower leagues one team can beat any other on a good day. Bolton are obviously top quality so that may not apply so easily BUT it does not forgive a 7 0 hammering all the same.
GC has a problem of his own making, he was responsible for some of the dire signings even if the board agreed. He's the one in charge of team selection.

Thistle had been relegated. Form was mediocre although we had a decent squad. He came in and ripped everything up and started afresh. Many of his signings were truly awful. Murmurings from the dressing room were that he just wasn't at the races. A lot of flip charts and mindfulness but players were blowing out their ar*es after 60 minutes.
Tactics were non existent.
Substitutions baffling.
No plan B when needed.
The players weren't playing for him.
Taking players on team building with the sas then as a surprise having one of the younger boys kidnapped and thrown in a van.. this was supposed to be character building. The lad was allegedly troubled by this for a while.
Got rid of a club legend (who is now manager).the player found out from the media.
The players chucked it.
New manager came in and during interviews says that the club was left in a terrible state which is unusual to hear that sort of condemnation among managers.
Apparently interviews very well and talks a good game. Unfortunately can't manage one.. he rarely lasts a year.
It sounds all too familiar. I went to Bolton and its clear the players have lost all faith and confidence is rock bottom.
Losing to Bolton is not unexpected, the manner of the defeat, the 1 "shot" that was on target, is appalling.
Fleetwood beat us healthily and we're able to conserve energy in the 2nd with the 3pts in the bag.
The form, results and performances are not up to standard and GC has to go.
A result of any kind against Shrews will only subject us to more misery as it will embolden GC in brigade.
But look at the players, they've stopped believing, that's reason enough not to expect the form post Sept will not improve despite GC and the coaches' efforts and a steller strike force arriving in Jan.
The board need to do everyone a favour and sack him now.

We did warn you about him , can talk himself into a job but an awful manager
another footbal genius. What were we meant to do with your warning?

It’s easy to go around to a manager’s new club “warning” the fans of the manager’s weaknesses if they’ve been sacked at their previous club/clubs. Most managers normally get sacked at some point and the next time we hire one, we’re more likely to hire a journeyman than tempt Wenger out of retirement

I’m sure Rotherham fans will soon be roaming the forums of MT’s next club saying “we’re warning you he isn’t very good” and then claiming the plaudits when he gets sacked. Good for the ego i suppose
