fair play, appreciate you've seen a lot more of that level than myself. does beg the question why we've placed so much store in luke harris though doesn't it
Probably because he is seen as a pretty hot prospect at Fulham. Good enough to be on the edge of their squad and in it when they were a bit short, much like Stanno. His scoring rate at U21 level was more than decent for an attacking midfielder and even better than Trevitt whose goals to games ratio for a midfielder was very good. But you never know how a young player will go on his first loan and how long they will take to adjust to competitive mens football, no matter at what level. One thing we will never know is how he would have linked up with Trevitt which is a bit of a shame, but that's how football goes.

The one thing that is ironic is that there used to be a few on here who bemoaned our reluctance to enter the loan market, particularly for the young PL players. Especially around the time Yeovil were doing well out of it or when Matt got in Podge and Zanzala from other L2 clubs. This season, apart from Admiral, we have got in some players from that market who were sought after.

I think it should be a tool we use to plug gaps in the squad where we haven't got any youngster of our own ready to step up. This season has been one of those times where we have a load of first year pro's who are not yet ready, the same as the likes of Watkins, Randall, Key and Collins were not ready at the same stage of their careers. Sonny is slowly making his mark, hopefully next season a couple more or so can also force their way into the match day squad.

With Cummins and Beardmore at Mousehole think I'll pay a visit soon.

It doesn't always work that way. Joel Randall for example had a very patchy loan record but it didn't stop him going on to be a million pound player. They aren't L1 players yet, if they were they would be playing regularly in L1. They are developing players just coming in to men's football and gaining experience.

Southern League football isn't easy, it's very physical and takes some getting used to for those stepping up from youth football. I have seen quite a few loanees at Tiverton this season from various clubs, including a couple from Bristol Rovers. One took a while but eventually started to look good. The other one looked way out of his depth. Mitch looked good when he played but didn't really fit in with what Tivvy wanted at the time. Their best loan players have actually been more experienced players from NL South sides. Last season though Ed James was very good for them after a patchy start.
Kevin Nicholson used the same example and told a story about Joel at today's Senior Reds meeting - one of Kev's early assignments was to go and watch Joel Randall out on loan (Weston super Mare?) . Kev had to write a report about how dreadful Joel's performance had been. But by the end of the season Joel was smashing it (v Portsmouth?) in the Paint Pot and after another year or so was becoming a million pound player.

To all those insisting that Sonny Cox should be starting for us check this out, can't even get a start with Yeovil!
Wonder why players that have left or loaned out are suddenly considered to be the answer to all our prayers!
Ben Seymour would be tucking them away now!
Well done Sonny lad

Is Borges injured? If not, it isn't good, is it?

Thursday 14th March
Plymouth Parkway 1 Merthyr Town 3
Harrison King not in Plymouth Parkway’s squad again. Either the loan is over or King is injured again.

Having had 10 of their last 12 games postponed and Bolitho Park in no fit state Parkway played this home game at Lodge Road, Yate Town’s ground. Their home game vs Hayes on Saturday will also be played in Yate. Truro City who have been groundsharing with Parkway for a couple of seasons are playing thier remaining home games at Wordsworth Drive, Taunton.

The 3 games scheduled for Tuesday that could have featured 6 City loanees were all postponed.

The last few games for Truro have been at Gloucester City and not at Taunton as the ground is really suffering. Just in case someone was planning to go and watch them :)
