I think that article is all about keeping his options open.

If Charlton make clear to him that he has no future there then I think we could get him if we can afford him - both fee and wages. I think we would certainly try but it would require Charlton and Fleetwood to be willing to compromise.

If Charlton instead tell him he is in their plans and needs to fight for his place I think he would rather do that - The Valley or SJP is a bit of a no-brainer. Could see another loan I suppose.

Ok, he might have had a 'mare in front of goal but only good strikers manage to get themselves into positions where they get so many chances. Gotta remember he has hardly played this season so is bound to be a bit rusty.

The moaners should remember this and lay off the lad.
Spot on
Apart from loan spells when was last time he had a lengthy run in anyones team. FGR?

Ive got to say that from what ive seen of fleetwood Charlton were right in not playing him in the championship, the shape hes in at the mo he wouldnt cut it, so the question is why did they sign him at all, thats probably symptomatic of why they are where they are now. Can he cut it in div1 , well thats a diferent kettle, under pt imo he would , but under a regime, one thats already rejected him big time, maybe not. No matter what he says to the press, he cant of enjoyed himself at Charlton, must have ****** him right off, stuck in the reserves for a whole season. I know he and everybody says hes got a contract, but if he went back and said enough was enough, i want a move, decision made easy for charlton, sell the 5th choice/reserve striker!!! and get some wedge in. Than its just about us sorting the contract out. Ive said b4, a competitive salary, with a vv good productivity bonus Ie paid on goals. so Will he want to go back to a club and climb a mountain, or move on to ,admittedly a smaller club but with pleasant pastures. time will tell. or being slightly cynical fleetwoods pocket will tell. either way, cant wait for the game at the valley!! last time, we could have done them. this time IM SURE WE WILL

Re: Fleetwood

Not surprised he wants to stay, can't see Charlton agreeing though, how much did they shell out for the lad ?

Apparently. We all know about rumours. Money would be an issue though surely. If it's true and City could afford it, it could only be a good thing. From what I see of him he looks a good prospect but City would have to play to his strenghts. Bloody (sorry, bleddy) quick.
